Integrated Management System Policy

Packages Limited is committed to producing quality products through responsible sourcing conforming to customers’ requirements by creating value for the customers through our products and services.
The Organization is committed to achieving these goals by proactively:

  • Exhibiting leadership and commitment towards implementing this policy across all our operations.
  • Allocating appropriate sustainable resources for compliance with applicable management standards and establishing individual accountability to comply with these requirements.
  • Developing an effective Management System to prevent customer complaints, incidents/accidents, ill-health and pollution, while reducing waste, eliminating hazards and mitigating environmental and social impacts.
  • Creating a safe and work-friendly environment for all stakeholders with due participation and commitment from everyone. Safety shall always take the highest priority in all situations.
  • Improving our Product Quality continually through innovations, process optimizations, and risk identification.
  • Ensuring that all food-related packaging material is produced, stored, and delivered in safe and hygienic conditions as per relevant requirements. Where applicable, we will ensure supply of Halal Packaging material and consumer products with effective communication on Halal/food issues with suppliers, customers, and relevant interested parties in the food chain.
  • Improving our energy performance by avoiding energy and utilities’ wastage, optimum consumption, supporting the purchase of energy-efficient products, services, and designing for improvement in energy performance where applicable.
  • Leading by example and committing to reducing our carbon and water footprint to an optimum level where possible.
  • Setting objectives and targets that are monitored regularly to review our Management Systems and ensure that these objectives are aligned with organizational context.
  • Ensuring the needs and expectations of our customers and other interested parties are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring continual improvement as a result of formal internal/external audits and management reviews, which are conducted at least once a year for applicable standards.
  • Improving the competency and skills of our people at all levels through adequate information sharing, training and supervision provided to ensure that all organizational needs are met.
  • Ensuring all stakeholders have access and understanding of the IMS policy (made publicly available), relevant procedures and supporting documentation, through training and provision of information.

Halaal Management System Policy

We, at DIC Pakistan Ltd, strive to create superior value for all stakeholders by providing customer oriented high quality inks, chemicals & services. We will contribute to the realization of “Color & Comfort” through supplying products maintaining Halaal Management System Requirements in all aspects of our business operations. To achieve this goal, we are committed;

  • To ensure that all products are being made from Halaal approved raw materials
  • To ensure that all materials used have been approved by certification authority, where applicable.
  • To ensure that the Halaal control points at storage, technical and production facilities have been proactively identified and control measures are in place.
  • To train, develop and involve all stakeholders of the company to understand the Halaal Management System.
  • To provide the resources needed for the preparation, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Halaal Management System.

 

This policy must be implemented on DIC Pakistan Limited and will be communicated to all interested parties of DIC Pakistan Limited.

ISO Certifications

ISO 9001: 2015
DIC’s product principle is “Color & comfort by chemistry”. DIC have acquired ISO 9001 certification to improve the customers’ satisfaction.

ISO 14001: 2015
DIC PK has obtained ISO 14001 certification, allowing to measure environmental management effort against internationally accepted criteria

ISO 45001:2018
DIC Pakistan Limited has successfully conducted transition audit in April 2020 from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018.

Halaal Certification

DIC PK has obtained Halaal certification for its products from SANHA Pakistan, allowing it to be used in the Halaal Product chain. This is a remarkable achievement as DIC Pakistan Limited is the first and leading printing ink manufacturer to obtain the Halaal certification by complying PS 3733:2019.

SMETA Compliant Company

The issue of sustainability has grown ever more important over the years. Besides being thoughtful in the use of natural resources, DIC is promoting ethical and social responsibility. For the current assessment of ETI codes and local laws, DIC registered itself on SEDEX. The supplier ethical data exchange, or SEDEX for short, is a globally renowned online platform that allows members to provide customers and partners with detailed information about their social and ethical performance. SMETA audit was conducted on following modules  
  • Health and safety
  • Labor standards
  • Environment
  • Business ethics
And it is great to announce that we are now a SMETA Compliant Company ensuring labor standards, business ethics, health & safety, and environmental management. It is believed that SMETA Compliance will play a vital role in sustaining our future business with sensitive customers. Our commitment is to ensure responsible sourcing across our whole supply chain.

Green Office Certification

DIC Pakistan limited has been recommended for the award of certification of Green Office by WWF Pakistan. This certification is a great achievement for our team that always strives for taking part in the sustainability and conservation efforts. Moreover, this will help in streamlining our efforts to achieve conservation targets of natural resources.

Mr. Lee Ji Xiang Jason

(Non-Executive Director)
Mr. Jason is a Regional Internal Audit Director of DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (“DICAP”), with overall responsibility for the governance, internal controls and audit of DIC Companies in the Asia Pacific Region. His 15-year career started off in PriceWaterHouse Coopers LLP Singapore as an external Auditor and joined DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in May 2016 as a Regional Internal Audit Manager before progressing to his current role in January 2021.. Mr. Jason brings with him a wealth of more than fifteen years experience in the field of all Income Tax, financial, operational and compliance audits, and facilitates risk management and mitigation processes. He is also a Director of DIC India Limited. Mr. Jason has a Bachelor’s in Accountancy (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

Ms. Anam Yousaf

HR Business Partner

Anam Yousaf is the HR Business Partner of DIC Pakistan. She has diversified experience of more than 8 years in Human Resource Management, Internal Auditing and Finance. She holds ACCA certification along with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and Finance. She also has a certification in Human Resources Management.

Mr. Muhammad Salman Bari

Supply Chain Manager

Mr. Salman Bari is the Supply Chain Manager at DIC Pakistan Ltd., and Category Lead in Solvents Procurement for Packages Group. He holds BS Chemical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He acts as a key representative in DIC Asia Pacific Supply Chain Regional Team and has a dynamic experience in multiple Supply Chain functions including Procurement, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Supply Risk Mitigation, Warehouse Management & Logistics.

Mr. Muhammad Adeel

Operations Manager
Muhammad Adeel comes with 12 years of diversified manufacturing management experience that includes production management, plant maintenance management, plant & machine budgeting, installation, and new infrastructure design projects. He holds BS Chemical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He is overseeing the development of a new manufacturing facility for the Company.

Muzammil Khan

Technical Manager

Muzammil Khan  has a Masters in Chemistry and a vast experience of more than 27 years in the printing ink industry. While working at DIC Pakistan, he has received extensive technical trainings by international DIC/Sun Chemical Group Companies in Europe and Asia. He is responsible for overall design and development of all kinds of printing inks.

Mr. M Shiraz Khan

National Sales Manager

Mr. Muhammad Shiraz Khan is the National Sales Manager of DIC Pakistan Limited. He holds an MBA from Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology and joined the organization in 2011 as Management Trainee. He has diverse experience in Sales and marketing of more than 12 year working in both South and North regions of the Company.

Ms. Mehreen Zafar

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Mehreen Zafar is the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of DIC Pakistan Limited. She is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan with over 10 years of post-qualification experience in varying lines of services including financial management, budgeting, strategic business planning, corporate compliance, and risk management operations.

Mr. Syed Muhammad Ismail Hussain Naqvi

(MD & CEO Executive Director)

Mr. Ismail joined DIC as Chief Operating Officer in June 2019 and took over as CEO from January 1, 2021. He has previously worked as Business Manager for AkzoNobel Pakistan Limited. He has also been Country Manager for Buhler Holding AG and has served as Senior Manager Business Development at Descon Engineering Limited. Ismail holds an MBA degree from Santa Clara University, California USA as well as Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has also worked at Applied Materials in USA for 10 years in various technical and managerial positions before moving to Pakistan in 2008.

Mr. Hayato Kashiwagi

Mr. Kashiwagi is Regional Business Product Director of DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (“DICAP”), with overall responsibility for product growth across all operating entities of the Packaging and Graphic Division in the DICAP region. His 25-year career at DIC Corporation, the parent company of DICAP, covered multiple areas in sales and marketing, corporate management and international business. He brings with him a wealth of experience of working with Group companies in Japan, Asia Pacific and China region on various projects. He is also a Director of DIC Malaysia SdnBhd, PT DIC Graphics, DIC Philippines Inc, DIC Vietnam Co. Ltd, DIC Bangladesh Private Limited, DIC Australia Pty Ltd, DIC India Ltd., and DIC Lanka (Private) Limited. Mr.Kashiwagi has a Bachelor of Commerce from Doshisha University.

Mr. Paul Koek

Mr. Paul Koek is the Regional Finance Director of DIC Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, a subsidiary of DIC Corporation Japan. Mr. Paul Koek is responsible for financial activities of entities in South East Asia, Oceania and South Asia Region Mr. Paul Koek has more than 21 years of work experience in the field of regional tax, group accounting and treasury management. He has been a Non Executive Director of DIC Pakistan Ltd. since 13 June, 2000. He holds a Certified Public Accountant qualification and is registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. He is a Fellow Member (FCCA) with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Senior Member with the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Mr. Khurram Raza Bakhtayari

Mr. Khurram Raza Bakhtayari joined Packages Limited in 2005. He currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of Packages Limited. He is a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan and has vast experience in financial planning and budgeting, financial forecasting and analysis, asset investment and taxation. Syed Aslam Mehdi joined Packages Limited in 1980. He was General Manager of Packages Limited and Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of DIC Pakistan Limited. Currently, he is in the Packages Limited. He has a Master degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration, Karachi and has served Packages Group Companies in various capacities over the years. Currently he also holds directorship of Packages Limited, Bulleh Shah Packaging (Pvt) Ltd., Packages Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. and Printcare PLC, Sri Lanka.

Syeda Henna Babar Ali

(Chairperson Non- Executive Director)

Syeda Henna Babar Ali, Chairperson of the Board brings a wealth of experience and expertise to DIC. She joined Packages Limited in 1990 as Product Manager, became Brand Manager, and Group Brand Manager and then Advisor Business Unit Consumer Products, a designation she still actively holds. She was schooled at the Convent of Jesus and Mary and Cathedral School Lahore. After completing her Senior Cambridge and Higher Senior Cambridge, she was admitted to Kinnaird College as a private student from where she completed her BA in 3 months and proceeded to the US, to study Literature at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for her BA (1976) and MA (1981).

After returning to Pakistan, she experimented with a publishing house, Indus Publications (Pvt) Limited 1982, worked at The Nation with Arif Nizami and finally joined Packages in 1990.

While at Packages Limited, she has received extensive professional training by taking the American Management Association Certifications, LUMS courses in Advertising Management, New Product Development, Women in Management, Stanford University Executive Development Course in Marketing Management, Strategy Development and Family Business management from IMD. Her most recent certifications include Cornell University’s Leadership Certificate, Marketing Strategy Certificate. She is also a Jack Canfield Certified Coach in Law of Attractions and Success Principles which she teaches to the Packages Group Management and trains the trainer.

She is also an Advisor of the Packages Group Advisory Committee.
