Story of DIC Pakistan
1994
In July 1994, Coates Lorilleux formed a joint venture with Packages Limited and commenced production of liquid and offset inks in Pakistan under the name of Coates Lorilleux Pakistan Limited. DIC Corporation of Japan later acquired Coates Lorilleux and thereby DIC Pakistan Limited came into being.

1996
DIC Pakistan started manufacturing various types of inks including offset, liquid inks (rotogravure and flexo) and water-based inks. The average production ranged from 200-300 tonnes per month.

1998
DIC Pakistan entered the tobacco market by developing LMR/LKR inks used in cigarette packaging.

2000
DIC Pakistan started manufacturing vinyl based (VC) inks for gravure printing.

2006
In 2006, the DIC Karachi factory was developed to expand operations and cater to the needs of customers in the South Region of Pakistan.

2007
In 2007, newer ink technologies were introduced including GSTAR and TPQ to meet various customer requirements.

2009
In 2009, SAP ERP was integrated at DIC Pakistan to have a centralised system that enables accessing and sharing up-to-date data enabling an efficient working environment.
DIC Pakistan further expanded into the tobacco market by importing LMQ inks used on offset for specific customer needs.

2010
In 2010-2011, SUNEX ink series; a toluene free ink series was developed alongside WOVEN ink series to cater to the evolving demands of the packaging and printing sector.
2012 onwards DIC Pakistan entered the export markets by providing SUNEX ink series to different countries including Bangladesh & Bahrain.

2016
In 2016, DIC Pakistan reached a milestone of selling 10,000 tonnes of inks in a year. DIC Pakistan also started importing and selling solvent-based adhesives from DIC Asia Pacific thereby entering a new product segment.

2020
In 2020, DIC Pakistan developed non-ketone-based ink for rotogravure known as NK series.

2022
In 2022, DIC Pakistan started manufacturing UV OPV coating alongside water based OPV which is used for various packaging applications.

Groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art new factory in Kasur
2023
Syed Babar Ali, the founder of Packages Group did the groundbreaking of the new DIC Factory in Kasur.


2023
In 2023, DIC Pakistan introduced digital inks for the textile sector. As part of drive for sustainable operations, DIC Pakistan introduced solvent free adhesives in the packaging market.




1994
Coates Lorilleux became DIC Pakistan Limited after acquisition.

1996
DIC Pakistan manufactures offset, liquid, and water-based inks.

1998
DIC Pakistan developed LMR/LKR inks for cigarette packaging.

2000
DIC Pakistan began producing vinyl-based inks for gravure printing.

2006
DIC Karachi factory opened in 2006 to serve South Pakistan.

2007
In 2007, DIC introduced GSTAR and TPQ ink technologies.

2009
In 2009, DIC adopted SAP ERP and expanded tobacco inks.

2010-12
In 2010-11, DIC launched SUNEX and WOVEN ink series.

2016
In 2016, DIC hit 10,000-tonne sales and added adhesives.

2020
In 2020, DIC launched NK non-ketone inks for rotogravure.

2022
In 2022, DIC began UV and water-based OPV production.

2023
Syed Babar Ali initiated construction of new DIC Kasur factory.

2023-Present
In 2023, DIC launched textile digital inks and solvent-free adhesives.
